Boston is an academic and economic hub: a destination for students from around the world.
Yet Boston youth, who could be first in their families to graduate college, are too often not accessing these same opportunities.
Boston HERC is changing that. Passport students are on a journey to Destination. . . Greatness!
What We Do

Last week, the Carnegie Corporation of New York announced that the Latine College & Career Access (LaCCA) Network has been named as one of 10 winners of the Corporation’s new initiative, Profiles in Collective Leadership, focused on funding nonpartisan collaborations serving as educational and economic bridges in communities across the country. As the only recipient of this $200,000 grant in Massachusetts, this recognition is a testament to the effectiveness of LaCCA's model and its potential to make a significant impact on the lives of Latine and BIPOC youth in Boston. When we founded the LaCCA Network alongside our partners from the Greater Boston Latino Network— IBA - Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, Ebecc East Boston, Hyde Square Task Force and Sociedad Latina—we wanted to empower Latine and BIPOC youth in Boston by providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed in education and their careers. Today, LaCCA serves approximately 250 students between the ages of 14 and 21 every year with 100 percent of participating youth achieving on-time grade promotion and being on track for high school graduation.Carolina De Jesus, our CEO, shared, "We are so grateful for this recognition and support of our work with the LaCCA network. We look forward to this collaboration to increase our collective impact amongst our first-generation to college students."To learn more visit:

Our recent year end celebration was at Doña Habana. Thank you Nivia and Hector for generously gifting us a celebration once again. For those who couldn’t join us, here is a bit of what Javier shared that evening. Cheers to a New Year ahead of serving many more first-generation students together!
