-Danielle's Bio:
Danielle loves adult learners and the beautiful people that teach them! Her introduction ESL and adult education began learning Spanish and teaching English in Mexico. She experience firsthand how language and literacy programs can be a powerful site for cross-cultural ministry and personal and social change. Following this, Danielle moved to Boston where she studied participatory methods and worked with immigrant learners in several community based programs. Her experience includes working with low-literacy and multicultural learners, participatory methodology, counseling, grant writing and program design. In 2009, she started as a volunteer at the HERC Adult Education Program and it was love at first site. Today, Danielle serves as Program Director where the best part of her job is working with you! Her inspiration comes from the amazing students who daily go beyond "what is" to believe in their power to speak and the phenomenal possibilities for change.
Danielle holds a B.A. in sociology, a certificate in church leadership, and a Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Apart from working at HERC, she enjoys spending time with her local church, eating great Mexican food, and finding fantastic deals at the neighborhood CVS and on Craig's List.
